Simple Muscle Building Exercises

It is important for each and every one of us to get in shape and stay healthy. Definition in the muscles looks hot and sexy for men and women, and it’s up to you whether you want to keep your body lightly toned or go all out bodybuilder-style. The more muscle you want to add, the stronger the motivation and commitment you will need to put it. Whatever body shape you aim for, there are muscle building exercises that should be included in any basic workout.
First, do squats. One of the best muscle building exercises you can do is the squat. Your leg and buttocks muscles can be toned with squats, which also improves posture and strengthens your body. Set your feet apart with each foot parallel to each shoulder and squat down as though you are about to sit on a chair.
Some people actually use a chair which helps them to determine how low to squat before holding, but just make sure that you stop right above the chair and don’t actually sit on it. When you reach the right chair height, make sure your thighs are parallel to the floor, hold the squat, and count to five, and then stand back up. Another of the top muscle building exercises is the bench press. Weight lifting helps build lean muscle mass and adds to the challenge.
To do bench presses, you will need to lie on a support bench as you take off the weight and lower it to your chest. You will need a bench press or support bench, lie down on this and take off the weight. Lower it until your arms are locked and then push it back up and hold at the top before lowering back down again. Bench presses could cause a slight burn sensation but it should not be painful; if you feel pain, it means you are pushing it too far that could eventually result in injury.
Another excellent exercise in muscle building is the military press. The military press involves a more challenging work out — weight lifting while standing up. The biggest difference between the military and bench press is that with the first you’re standing up and the latter you’re laying on a bench. Workouts should always be challenging, but never to the point that you are putting yourself in a dangerous injury situation.
